Inner Fire is a residential community supporting individuals who want to carefully taper from mind-altering, psychotropic medications, or heal from mental (soul) health challenges without the use of these medications. Embedded in the beautiful nature of Brookline, VT, our multifaceted program offers holistic healing through artistic therapies, counseling, gardening and forestry, cooking and a healthy diet, a supportive social environment and more.

Are you concerned about the overmedication of our society and passionate about healing through whole foods nutrition, you can be a part of people's Healing journey here at Inner Fire by providing nurturing meals in our beautiful country kitchen for 12+ seekers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan weekly/monthly menus for Seekers and Guides
• Order and purchase organic food weekly
• Prepare Breakfast, Lunch and soup for Dinner
• Teach Cooking as an empowering life skill including preserving, biodegradable cleansers used for cleaning, food storage and safety
• Train Guides on kitchen protocols, food safety and storage

Qualifications :

• Nutrition knowledge and experience
• Knowledge of food preservation (canning, freezing and drying)
• Knowledge of herbs, culinary and medicinal
• Experience with the GAPS diet and cooking instruction using hands-on cooking demonstrations
• Knowledge of food safety concepts, and current ServSafe Manager Certification
• Knowledge of costs of goods, inventory controls, budgeting, and purchasing
• At least two years kitchen manager experience in a similar capacity
• Ability to train Guides and Seekers on proper food preparation and kitchen safety techniques
• Excellent communication and Interpersonal skills
• Familiar and enthusiastic about the Weston Price Foundation work
• Comfort using Google Docs/Drive, and Microsoft Office (Excel)

Schedule

• Full time Monday through Friday 6 am to 2 pm
