This role will be responsible for researching market and consumer trends. The Strategic Market Analyst understands the business objectives to strategically analyze relevant data to help the organization improve marketing and sales initiatives and product development efforts. Under general direction and with minimal supervision from the assigned supervisor, t he ideal candidate will be able to gather and interpret large quantities of data from across industries and communicate findings to the team and stakeholders. This role will work closely with the marketing, sales, product development, and executive teams to develop strategies to drive growth and profitability.

Objectives of this Role:
  • Understand business objectives and contribute to the development of strategies to drive growth and profitability.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative research into consumers, competitors, products, and the marketplace. Create reports, presentations, and action items based on collected data.
  • Analyze marketing data and metrics to track performance, optimize campaigns, and report on key performance indicators.
  • Monitor industry trends, consumer demographics, and competitor activities to stay ahead of the curve and recommend strategic adjustments as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Research consumer behavior, preferences, and demographics to inform product development and marketing strategies.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitors, and market conditions to identify opportunities and risks for the business.
  • Capture the “Voice of the Customer” (VoC) by conducting surveys and interviews to provide insights and support decision-making.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and strategies by analyzing sales, customer engagement, website traffic, and other digital metrics.
  • Develop forecasts that consider current/future market conditions, industry and consumer trends, and growth opportunities.
  • Track and enhance the current sales and marketing funnel tracking and performance metrics.
  • Share insights regularly with cross-functional teams, such as product development, sales, marketing, and senior management, etc.
  • Contribute to the company’s strategic direction by providing insights and analysis to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, market and product research methodologies, and best practices, attending training and professional development opportunities as needed.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and regulations related to market research and data privacy.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities
  • Passion for statistical research and analysis and capacity to understand and relay complex data
  • Adept at using a variety of approaches (spreadsheets, charts, graphs, and data visualization) to present findings in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Knowledge of data collection methods (polls, focus groups, surveys etc)
  • Familiar with ethical standards and regulations related to market research and data privacy
  • Advanced computer literacy skills and a facility with search engines and web analytics
  • Superb ability to multitask while paying attention to detail
Desired Education and/or Experience:
  • Experience working as a Strategic Market Analyst or in a similar role
  • Bachelor’s degree in strategic marketing, business administration, and/or an engineering discipline
  • MBA a strong plus
  • OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Alternate education and experience considered based on individual candidate.
Language Skills:
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Ability to present information to all levels of employees and outside vendors .
Computer Skills:
  • Excellent knowledge of statistical packages (SPSS, SAS or similar), databases and a strong working knowledge of the MS Office suite of products
  • Experience working with tools to analyze web analytics (Google Analytics/Tag Manager/Console), search engine optimization (SEMrush or equivalent), PPC and paid search marketing, CRM programs (Salesforce), and business research tools
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and mining

  • Sitting, 6+ hours per workday
