Giner is a leading Greentech company in Newton, MA. Guided by our mission to 'solve challenges for a sustainable future,' Giner designs and sells electrolyzers and fuel cells, while also striving to produce green chemicals and advanced batteries to reduce the global carbon footprint. Giner has commercialized an alcohol sensor and is developing a THC sensor.
We are currently seeking talented and highly motivated chemist or chemical engineer to join our labs located in Newton, MA. As a member of the Energy Technology team, you will collaborate closely with scientists, engineers, and production staff to advance our innovative membrane and electrolyzer technologies. Together, we will create solutions aimed at commercializing our technologies from the lab to the market.
Staff Scientists at Giner, Inc. have a unique opportunity to contribute to a wide range of programs pushing the boundaries of green technology, electrochemical systems, and power systems. In this role, you would have the opportunity to drive programs from conception, through detail design, procurement, fabrication, integration, testing, lab operation, and delivery to customers.
Qualifications - BS Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering
- Highly motivated with a strong interest in polymer/organic chemistry some synthetic organic chemistry experience is preferred
- Comfortable handling or learning to handle pyrophoric materials, cryogens, and reactive metal nano-catalysts
- Interest/experience in electrochemical devices especially fuel cells and/or electrolyzers and their key components i.e. electrodes and membranes is preferred
- Familiarity with data processing software such as MatLab, MS-Excel etc.
- Good organizational, multitasking and communication skills.
- work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities - Perform chemical and polymer syntheses
- Materials characterization to include both wet and instrumental techniques
- Membrane, electrode, and MEA fabrication
- Data analysis, reporting, and presenting.
- Contribute to agency reports, and company/group proposals

Salary: $75k - $80k + Annual Performance Bonus depending on appropriate experience
