Giner is a leading Greentech company in Newton, MA. Guided by our mission to engineer innovative electrochemical solutions to global energy and health challenges, Giner designs and sells electrolyzers and fuel cells, while also developing advanced chemistry batteries and technologies for producing green chemicals to reduce the global carbon footprint. Giner has commercialized an alcohol sensor and is developing a THC sensor.

We are currently seeking talented and highly motivated Cell Test Engineers to join our labs located in Newton, MA. As a member of the team, you will collaborate closely with scientists, engineers, and production staff to advance our innovative fuel cell technologies. Together, we will create solutions aimed at commercializing our technologies from the lab to the market.

Staff Engineers at Giner, Inc. have a unique opportunity to contribute to a wide range of programs pushing the boundaries of green technology, electrochemical systems, and power systems. In this role, you would have the opportunity to drive programs from conception, through detail design, procurement, fabrication, integration, testing, lab operation and delivery to customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, fabricate, and test fuel cells and electrolyzers
  • Set up, modify and maintain fuel cell test stations to meet product development requirements
  • Assemble single cells and short stacks, operate test stations and analyze data to provide high-quality, consistent results
  • Design and implement electrochemical test protocols, perform electrochemical and mechanical characterization and perform data analysis and ensure data-based decision-making
  • Prepare detailed reports
  • Maintain the test lab regularly, including modifying experimental apparatus per projects needs, verifying/calibrating lab devices, troubleshooting, diagnosing problems and repairing / replacing defective parts when issues arise
  • Actively maintain a safe working environment
Qualifications
  • BS Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Highly motivated with mechanical aptitude and hands-on ability
  • Hands-on experience in low temperature fuel cells and/or electrolyzers is a plus
  • Competency to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledgeable about electrochemical techniques
  • Comfortable with handling and processing catalyst nanomaterials
  • Familiarity with data processing software such as MatLab, MS-Excel, etc.
  • Good organizational, multitasking and communication skills
