JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective:
Collaborates with the Parochial Administrator and pastorate staff to provide quality and reverent liturgical celebrations, and facilitates a prayerful environment worthy of the dignity of the sacrifice of the Mass.
Essential Job Duties:
- Primarily plays/accompanies cantors/choir at St. Olaf Church weekend Masses.
- Recruit, rehearse, direct, and develop parish choirs.
- Collaborates with the Parochial Administrator quarterly and other pastorate musicians on the Pastorate worship programs for each liturgical season, Holy Days, Special Feasts, First Eucharist, Rites of Order of Christian Initiation, and November Remembrance Mass.
- Coordinates that liturgy the books are in place for weekend Masses, as well as updated Prayers of the Faithful (including Mass Intentions).
- Maintain a list of accompanists at each location as well as fill-ins.
- Assures that adequate materials for worship are available. Oversees the purchase and supply of sacred vessels, vestments, and other liturgical supplies.
- Coordinates the recruiting, training, and scheduling, for sacristans, lectors, Eucharistic ministers, ushers, greeters, gift bearers, and altar linen cleaners are scheduled to perform their respective roles.
- Coordinates the work of pastorate liturgy teams and committees (Church Environment, Spiritual Life and Worship Commission).
- Oversees volunteer or directly consults with families on the liturgy for funeral Mass.
- Screens and assures the completion of Virtus and background checks as appropriate.
- Point person for live streaming of Mass and One License.
- Serves as a local parish resource to the Parochial Administrator, Vicars and other staff by providing assistance/consultation for worship needs and duties.
Preferred Education & Experience:
• Associate Degree or equivalent experience

- Demonstrated understanding, respect, and support of the Catholic Church's teaching, mission, and values.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and organize work effectively and efficiently, including developing and maintaining effective recordkeeping systems.

- Musicians/Accompanists (non-employee)
- Volunteers such as Church Environment personnel, liturgical roles

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Office environment
- Ability to attend outdoor services in all weather conditions.
Normal Work Days & Hours:
• Part-Time, flexible hours during week. Requested office hours Tuesday and/or Thursday to allow for staff meetings and collaboration; evening and weekend hours required.
