Job Description

Gpac has partnered with a lovely independent school that provides state-of-the-art, evidence-based, comprehensive and therapeutic programming for students with autism and mental health challenges for 30 years! Apply to join their multidisciplinary team!

Position: 2 full time psychologists for coverage of 2 parental leaves. The 6 month maternity leaves start in June or July 2024 for both positions (the age range for one is elementary and high school for the other).

Responsibilities:

The Psychologist would see approximately 10-12 individuals, run 4-5 groups each week, and provide testing/assessments.

* Strong organizational and management skills and a strong fondness for our population; would collaborate with 5 psychologists.
* Provide consultation/training throughout the week to staff providing psychological assessments (preferably knowledge of personality/projective assessments).
* Writing reports & effectively presenting information, test results, & recommendations at meetings in a manner easily understood by the team (including family) & when appropriate, the student Liaison to students' outside psychologists and psychiatrists.
* Provide individual & small group therapy.
* Provide crisis intervention in situations requiring immediate psychological treatment.
* Evaluate the progress of therapeutic programs and make individual modifications.
* Write IEP goals, benchmarks, and progress reports for the psychological aspects of the students' IEPs.
* Continue to keep up with professional development for current trends in the field.

Requirements: MA or C.A.G.S. in school psychology or PhD/PsyD in clinical psychology

Licensed in the state of Massachusetts as a school psychologist or a clinical psychologist; also accepting graduate school students, post-doc students, or 3rd year school psychology students and they are encouraged to apply!

Knowledge and experience with a variety of assessment instruments, including administration, scoring, and interpretation Knowledge and experience of a wide variety of psychological methods.

Mindfulness, DBT & CBT, preferred knowledge and experience with students who have autism spectrum disorders and various mental health challenges (e.g., anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, Tourette's, thought disorders, etc.).

Knowledge of special education systems and laws preferred.

Desire to keep abreast of current information of various diagnoses and treatment methods through professional development.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong organizational skills & experience with being a team player.

Strong empathy and understanding of both students who have disabilities and their parents.

Excellent critical thinking, written, and verbal skills.

Salary:

* Master's level student candidates would be compensated $35,000 for 12 mos. and doctorate level student candidates would be compensated $65,000 for 12 mos.
* Fully credentialed candidates will be compensated at a competitive rate $70,000-$100,000 dependent on level of education and credentials)
