We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Public Relations & Event Assistant to join our growing team at PIER 39 San Francisco. In this role, you will provide critical support to our Events, Entertainment, Public Relations, and Marketing Partnerships at  PIER 39.  Assist in creating unique experiences for our visitors and promoting our property as the quintessential S.F. destination it has become. The ideal candidate will be methodical, calendar driven and will have proven event planning and public relations experience.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Support the planning, production and execution of all PIER 39 events.
  • Process PIER 39 filming requests, coordinating with production companies with film prep, clearances/ releases, and day of production.
  • Development and publication of press releases as well as other communications.
  • Collaborate with entertainment coordinators to ensure a vibrant musician and street performer program.
  • Maintain database of media kits, press materials, and event assets.
  • Development, execution, and installation of signage, lighting, and other on-PIER improvements.
  • Assist with logistics for partnership-driven events and co-promotions.
  • Oversee the charitable donation program.
  • Develop graphics and signage for quick-turn executions.
  • Administrative and clerical tasks; including coding bills/invoices, processing expense reports, and sourcing branded products.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and highly organized.
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator.
  • Hospitality & Entertainment driven mindset.
  • Adept at managing multiple workstreams.
  • Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as dictated by the job.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience as an Event Coordinator, PR Assistant, or similar role.
  • BA Degree in Business Admin, Marketing, Advertising, Communication, Hospitality
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency in graphic design (e.g., via Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or other)

 

Rate: $28.84 - $31.25 / hour (DOE)
