Organizer

Based in Plymouth Meeting, PA

PASNAP is currently searching for an Organizer who is responsible for building a strong organization in the workplace through which workers can exercise their collective power to improve conditions for employees and ensure quality of care for patients. The Organizer works as part of a team, mostly on new organizing campaigns, but may also work on contract campaigns, particularly those that are building up for a strike.

We are looking for smart, motivated individuals who want to help workers fight for better working conditions, dignity on the job, and improvements in health care for all. BIPOC encouraged.

Responsibilities include:

• Investigate and follow up on organizing leads in a timely matter with the ability to research target including past union experience, employer history and relationship with other facilities.
• Recruit and train Organizing Committee along with organizing meetings including preparing committee and employees for employer’s anti-union campaign.
• Establish relationships and conduct meetings with employees through small group meetings, departmental meetings and facility wide meetings.
• Prepare and manage work plans, calendars, organizing databases, files and reports in an ongoing and timely matter.
• Perform other tasks and duties as directed by the Organizing Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Union organizing experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Willingness to work long hours, including nights and weekends.
• Broadstripes and/or other database programs a plus.
• Automobile and valid driver's license.
• Willingness and ability to travel to other parts of the state.

Salary range is $74K – $123K.
