Role Overview
We're looking for an experienced Operations Program Manager to lead the execution of programs within our Space Electronic Systems division. As an OPM, you'll be at the heart of our operations, overseeing multiple projects and ensuring that they meet our high standards of quality, efficiency, and budget adherence.
What You'll Do
Program Leadership: Plan, execute, and oversee various operational programs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and timely delivery of objectives.
Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with production, supply chain, quality assurance, and engineering teams to ensure smooth program execution and alignment with business objectives.
Performance Tracking: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure program success. Provide regular updates to senior management on program status, risks, and outcomes.
Resource Management: Efficiently allocate resources including personnel, equipment, and budget to meet program goals. Ensure teams are well-supported to achieve desired results.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring program success. Address issues promptly as they arise.
Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with stakeholders at all levels to manage expectations and keep everyone informed about program progress.
Budget Oversight: Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring financial targets are met and resources are used effectively.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and elevate product quality. Implement improvements using methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the operations team, leading initiatives to optimize processes and boost operational performance.
What We're Looking For
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
Experience: 5-7 years of experience in engineering, operations, program management, or a related field, ideally within a design or manufacturing environment. Proven track record of managing complex, cross-functional projects.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management abilities
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent project management and organizational skills
Proficiency in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Certifications: PMP, Lean Six Sigma certification, or similar credentials are a plus.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with space flight products, ERP systems, project management software, and data analysis tools.
Working Conditions
This role is primarily based in a manufacturing environment with occasional travel to other sites. Extended hours or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines.
