Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a detail-oriented, excellent communicator with experience as a medical billing specialist. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of the medical legal space, experience billing for workers' compensation and personal injury cases, and expertise in handling claims and denials.
Job Responsibilities
As a Medical Biller, your key responsibilities will include:
Accurately coding and billing medical procedures and services to ensure timely reimbursement from insurance companies.
Working with medical records, coding systems, and various billing software programs.
Reviewing and analyzing medical records to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services.
Ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations, including ICD-10 and other coding systems.
Preparing and submitting claims to insurance companies electronically or by paper in a timely manner.
Following up on unpaid claims and denials, and resolving any billing discrepancies or issues.
Communicating with insurance companies, attorneys, patients, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries or disputes.
Maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Staying updated on changes in medical coding and billing practices.
Collaborating effectively with other team members and supervisors.
Handling other billing department needs as they arise.
Job Requirements
Must live/reside in Pennsylvania.
Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role.
Knowledge of the Medical Legal/Accident & Injury Space.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10), and medical billing processes.
Familiarity with medical records management systems (EHR) and billing software.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing procedures.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Effective communication skills for interacting with insurance companies, attorneys, patients, and healthcare providers.
Time management skills to efficiently process and send out claims.
Authorized to work in the US.
Background check required upon hire.
Schedule
Full-Time, Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm
Compensation
$19-25/hr, dependent on experience and knowledge.
Healthcare Allowance stipend to choose your own healthcare plan from the marketplace.
2 weeks of PTO beginning after 4 months of employment (pro-rated after review of a 90-day probationary period).
3 additional paid days for sick/doctor/mental health-related purposes.
Paid Company Holidays (6).
