Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated LMS (Learning Management System) Lead Tester to join our team. The LMS Lead Tester will be responsible for the testing process of our Learning Management System, ensuring that the platform functions as expected and meets high standards of quality. This individual will lead the project, develop test plans, create testing strategies, and ensure that all aspects of the LMS are thoroughly tested, from functionality and usability to performance and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Testing Efforts: Oversee, manage and test the Learning Management System, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all features and functionality.
  • Test Planning and Strategy: Develop detailed test plans and test cases and define test strategies that align with business goals and requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of testers as needed, providing guidance on best practices, reviewing test cases, and ensuring the team meets deadlines and quality standards.
  • Functional Testing: Conduct functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for all LMS features and integrations.
  • Defect Management: Track and report defects using a defect management tool. Work closely with developers and project managers to resolve issues promptly.
  • Test Environments: Ensure that the LMS is tested across various environments, including different browsers, devices, and operating systems, to ensure compatibility and a seamless user experience.
  • Performance and Security Testing: Identify potential performance bottlenecks, conduct load testing, and ensure that security best practices are adhered to within the LMS.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, Senior Leadership and instructional designers to understand requirements and provide feedback during the development and maintenance phases.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for testing procedures, test results, and defect logs. Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders and Senior Leadership.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry best practices in LMS testing and quality assurance, recommending and implementing process improvements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in testing learning management systems or similar platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, test planning, and test case creation.
  • Experience in leading a team of testers and mentoring junior staff.
  • Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Quality Center).
  • Solid understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and databases (SQL).
  • Ability to conduct performance and security testing, identifying vulnerabilities and areas for optimization.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and working with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to think critically.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB).
  • Experience with SCORM, xAPI, AICC, or other eLearning standards.
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, TalentLMS, Schoox etc.).
  • Experience in mobile testing for LMS compatibility.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as this role will be working very closely with SLT on providing project updates, testing results and also provide reasoning behind any testing delays etc.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to lead the project smoothly.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering high-quality solutions.
