Location: In office, Fort Collins, CO 80525 Hourly rates: $18 - $20, on-call compensation Status: Full Time Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm with on-call requirements Interim HealthCare is looking for an Insurance Authorization Specialist. Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):
  • Medical insurance Authorization, checking eligibility and benefit information for all patient insurances, uploading the documents in the patients' electronic charts and requesting authorization for all services Interim provides for in the patients home
  • Accurately collect and enter customer information, including eligibility and benefit information for all payer sources into the management information system and notify staff and patients of approval or denial
  • Clear written and verbal communication of clinical and payer information
  • Complete intake screening process to include obtaining, documenting and analyzing payer information
  • Act as a contact telephone liaison person interfacing with referral sources, outside agencies, health professionals and payer sources
  • Attaining pre-authorizations for medical services and/or procedures
  • Report accurate insurance coverage/patient responsibility to field staff & patients.
  • Obtain re-authorization as needed for each patient and the services provided in the patients home.
Job Requirements:
  • Prefer one (1) year of relevant experience in medical services or clinical environment with knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience with requesting authorization for medical services from insurance companies
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and work independently in a fast paced environment and focus on attention to detail
  • Excellent phone and computer skills, including Microsoft, Word and Excel
  • Ability to multi-task, use various portals to request authorization, excel spreadsheets, good phone skills and a team player!
  • Participate in office on-call rotation.
