Job Summary:

We are excited to invite experienced Medical Coders with a solid background in Risk Adjustment and Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) coding to join our team. If you hold a CPC or CCS certification from AHIMA or AAPC (with higher-level certifications being a great plus), we want to hear from you! As a Medical Coder specializing in Risk Adjustment and HCC, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and compliant coding within our healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and accurately code medical records and encounters according to Risk Adjustment and HCC coding guidelines.
Ensure coding practices align with ICD-10-CM, CMS-HCC, and other relevant guidelines.
Validate the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of coded data.
Identify and resolve discrepancies between clinical documentation and diagnosis coding.
Stay informed about the latest coding guidelines, rules, and regulations pertaining to Risk Adjustment and HCC coding.
Adhere to all compliance and HIPAA regulations to safeguard data security and patient confidentiality.
Collaborate with healthcare providers, physicians, and team members to clarify documentation and address coding inquiries.
Participate in coding education and training programs to enhance your coding skills and knowledge.
Prepare and submit reports on coding activities, accuracy, and any trends or issues that arise.
Assist with internal and external coding audits to ensure the quality and compliance of coding practices.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within the coding workflow.
Offer suggestions to enhance documentation and coding accuracy.
Qualifications:

A minimum of a CPC or CCS certification from AHIMA or AAPC is required. Higher-level certifications, such as CRC (Certified Risk Adjustment Coder), are highly desirable.
At least two years of experience in Risk Adjustment and HCC coding within a healthcare setting.
Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding guidelines and CMS-HCC risk adjustment methodology.
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software.
Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with medical professionals and team members.
A solid understanding of compliance and confidentiality regulations, including HIPAA.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $ 27.00 Per Hour
