**Job Title: Accounting Manager**
**Location:** Sumner, WA
**Schedule:** Full-time, in-office; Monday through Friday
**Salary Range:** $110,000.00 - $135,000.00
We are on the lookout for a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our vibrant team. This pivotal role offers a blend of leadership, mentorship, and hands-on accounting tasks, providing a fantastic opportunity for growth and impact.
**Your Role:**
As our Accounting Manager, you'll be a key player in our finance organization, working closely with senior management and reporting directly to the Controller. Your day-to-day will involve:
- **Financial Reporting:** Reviewing and preparing financial statements for a diverse portfolio of entities, ensuring compliance with the closing calendar.
- **Team Leadership:** Leading, training, and mentoring your team through the month-end closing process, fostering a culture of growth and success.
- **Policy & Control:** Overseeing the implementation of accounting controls, policies, and practices, and assisting in their development.
- **High-Level Accounting:** Reviewing and assisting with complex accounting functions such as preferred return calculations, fixed asset accounting, and more.
- **Tax & Audit Support:** Participating in the preparation of annual Federal Tax Returns and audit supporting documentation for a 3rd party CPA firm.
- **Collaboration:** Working closely with the property management team on special projects, financial reporting, and developing accounting training for their managers.
- **Budget Support:** Supporting the accountant and property management teams during the annual budget process.
**What We're Looking For:**
- **Education & Experience:** A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience, with 5+ years in accounting and 3+ years in a supervisory role. Real estate industry experience is a plus.
- **Technical Skills:** High proficiency in Microsoft Office products, with Yardi experience being a bonus. Strong financial analysis and interpretation skills.
- **Soft Skills:** Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Adaptability, attention to detail, and a passion for organization are essential.
- **Language Skills:** Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
